An honest to God email I got at work. I left off the list of people he sent it to, but it was almost the entire base! I've asked around at HQ and they all think this was really the way he talks...

I still think it was a joke... Cause I'm thinking the last line gives it away... hmmm

Subject: Representation
Importance: High

A message of importance in representation:

If you’ve taken advantage of customer services and extended times at AAFES, commissary, credit union, and even the post office, it came about as a response. Child care, dorms/housing, road/traffic, and security are some the major concerns that are on going and critically important in are daily lives we stay attuned to, and when voiced, adherence is assessed. Whether congressional/DOD legislative change /or funding, TAFB destination city/highway signs, or cable company rates/service if it affects our community, and brought attention too, there is involvement through our Wing leaders and those responsible delegated organizations in the Base Advisory/Consumer Affairs Council (BAC/CAC) forum.

The point is: “Attention to” and “information of’ is brought through BAC/CAC “representation”. The focus is communication putting precedence on feedback. Communicating allows us awareness to stay abreast and a mental resolve when a solution falls short because of a budget, the manning, or its priority. The BAC/CAC meeting’s uniqueness is when call to order, there is camaraderie to challenge concerns, or to share the information.

All units and tenants themselves should be obligated to there workforce to have BAC/CAC representation, not its official precedence being the factor.*** ***

As guest chair Colonel Keith D. Frede 60th MXG/CC stated that the Base Advisory/Consumer Affairs Council meetings are a sounding board to the Travis workforce and its community where maximum representation is a must. Col. Frede felt privilege to chair felt commanders should make an opportunity to attend. Again we thank Col. Frede for his support. **

The next BASE ADVISORY/CONSUMER AFFAIRS Council meeting will be held 1400hr Thursday, 10 March 2005 in Bldg 51, Wing Conference room. Meetings are open to anyone who wishes to attend. See attachments for meeting minutes /or appiontment letter with the BAC/CAC concept.

“Communication is a solution in itself”.

Hey ... I worked as a civie for the Defence Depd. for 31 years & that nearly makes sence to me. Scarey.

Wow. That guy has no idea he's making an ass of himself. It's ironic that he's talking about communication when he has no idea of how to form a complete sentence.

Comrades soldiers!

As the front-line defenders of our socialist regime against western imperialists, you must be always prepared. Always on the lookout for the enemy, who doesn't wish anything more than to invade and destroy our freedom!

You must report any suspicious activity that could lead to the disruption of our economy! And you must be prepared to be the welcome the enemy with fierce resistance!

And, comrades, don't forget: When worst comes to worst and a nuclear war follows, remember the basic facts of a nuclear war: When an atomic bomb explodes, rocks melt, metals evaporate, and soliders suffer burns of third degree!

I swear to god I haven't made this up. It's from an actual agitprop meeting from the days of my military training. No comment.

I forgot - the same guy, when talking about SDI (remember the 80's?) used the term 'Star Wars' - pronounced 'stair wares'. There's something about military that attracts morons. I wonder what it is.

EDIT:
Reading this, I realized that it might be interpreted the wrong way. I am not sying that people in military are morons in general. I have known a few service people and they are all very intelligent and caring people (something I don't remember ever saying about professionals soldiers back home during communism). But I think that military does attract morons perhaps a tad more than other fields...

Reminds me of Dr. Strangelove.
Yeah, well... ummm...

Damn! I have holes in my film education! Fifteen years in North America, and still haven't seen this famous film (forbidden back home - why?). I'll go and get it soon!
