I've been looking for a good lighting book and haven't come across anything clear and concise. Does anyone know a good introductory book that lays out the basics - 3pt, 4pt, interview lighting, film lighting, and more advanced techniques with nice diagrams and explanations?

Anyone previewed the tutorial DVD - "DV Enlightenment?"

Have you looked at John Jackman's Lighting for Digital Video? I'm waiting for the 2nd edition to come out next month.

Ross Lowell's - Matters of Light & Depth.

I bought the DV Elightenment DVD.

It is definitely for beginners, but thats what I am, and it was a big help. It was wonderful being able to actually see lighting examples and not just reading about them in a book or on the Internet.

I imagine if you are anything but a newbie this dvd will be old news (and not cheap either), but I LOVED it.

My fav is Lighting for Film and Electronic Cinematography by Dave Viera.

It's expensive but very good. But I'm not sure about diagrams tho.
