Good LED light kit for interview & photo shoots

I'll probably end up buying this once I get enough money they are local and seen them in person pretty good setup for what I need.

I've played with the P180 light which sells around $800 in Canada, and was not impressed with the light output. At this price I would want a much brighter light.

The color spectrum meters look like they could be a great tool to own, but all of these are priced in the $2,000+ price range.

I own a Sekonic C-500 color meter that I bought a couple of years ago that I use all the time, but even this cost me more than $1,000 to buy.

And that is the issue with most LED par/fresnel style lights sub $2K. The only LED I have seen that was a decent price and output is the Alzo/RPS studio 200w LED but it has aweful fan noise. To me anything other than LED panels is just not there yet in the affordable range.

My dilema is that I want to get some hard lights like a 650 fresnel & 1K open face (I have been renting up till now as its cheap for tungsten) but I have grown so used to the advantages of LED & Flo soft lights being able to adjust temp and running cool that its hard to invest in Tungsten at this juncture but the alternatives sub $1K just aren't there.

I am really interested in the Cool Lights CDM 150 as it runs cooler and can do both tungsten and daylight out of the same fixture. Too bad shipping to Canada really kills the price.

I'm a little puzzled by all the attention to precise color temperature. Maybe it depends on the cameras you're using ( RED may be more sensitive - don't know about Canon) but with Sony cameras I've been surprisingly happy with quite cheap LED's and fluorescents just adjusting with 1/8 to 1/4 magenta ( in one case + green). I have been fairly careful to test the lights first though and make sure I like them. I'm very critical of color BTW .
I did have one experience with an incredibly cheap LED (Yongnuo YN 600) where I was having trouble getting decent flesh tone until I diffused the light . My guess is that there were off spikes in the direct output from all those little bulbs, perhaps from the edges of the bulbs , but when it all got blended I didn't need any magenta at all. I've been using it regularly recently;y as a keyl;ight and mixing with Divas- in some cases even with tungsten.

I have a gaffer friend who just expects all his lights to be slightly off these days - every HMI bulb ages different;y , DIVA's and full size kino flo look very different and Diva's dim magenta. I'm not going to bust the bank for perfect color when a cheap gel seems to fix it . But i'm a DP who's generally giving away his lighting. Were I a gaffer who was charging for every light I would have to go name brand.
