good Jog/Shuttle wheels?

Has anybody found a good (cheap) USB Jog/Shuttle wheel. The only two that are really out there, by Contour design, have been around for like 5 years now and are still pricey (well not really the express is like $50 but that's about $20 too high for a 5 year old product in my opinion.)

I am surprised that there seem to be like none of these out there.

Not interested in one built into an editing keyboard...which there also seems to be like 1 prosumer level one of.

I've seen a special FCP keyboard with all the colored keycaps etc, and it has a jog wheel built in. I've got the original Contour also. I was using it with FCP at one time but found it difficult to set up for smooth shuttle/jog functionality.

Cheers,

I have the original Contour Shuttle from nearly 10 years ago. The new model is only slightly different. Funny thing is, I have it hooked up and never touch it, but for some reason won't get rid of it.

Ditto

That's why.

I'm thinking of trying a Mackie Universal Control next...they're pricey, several hundred dollars used (I guess that goes against your original question)...but they were designed from the ground up for responsive app control.

I think that's Bella brand or something like that.

I'm waiting for the Euphonix MC Color to come out and then might get that and the MC Control. Hopefully there will be a bundle on both or something.

I'm just really surprised there aren't more of these things at this level...if new models had came out maybe the old ones would have gone down in price.

Yeah I put it in workflow just cause it was post, probably better over here.

Hey guys !
Ahve you tried the Griffin's PowerMate ?
Not pro at all but it looks like it might be what you'r looking for uh ??

Personally, I use a logitech Revolution mouse with the automatic wheel, you can have it with steps (for menus etc) or free wheel (jog !). It's really easy to use, you position your pointer on the monitoring window and turn the wheel and you get a Jig wheel ...
