Good Experiences with York Entertainment?

Thanks guys... I Haven't commited to anything, but I'm just waying pros and cons of self distribution, verses exposure that I couldn't get doing it myself. I've read through that thread about York, but I was thinking, "certainly, someone must have something positive to say."

sorry to resurrect this thread, but i just did a search on York entertinment and this is the only thing that came up in my results.

i've recently been contacted by these guys a coupla days ago in regards to acquiring the rights to my feature i did about a year ago but am starting to see reports like this when i do a google search: http://www.ripoffreport.com/video-stores/york-entertainment/york-entertainment-tanya-york-4e8de.htm

they are asking if i am interested and can send them a screener.

has anybody dealt with these people and had a good experience? or gotten any money upfront for that matter?

You won't make a penny and they will make minimal (inept) effort in promoting and/or marketing your film.

Know a good friend who was sued because they (under different name at the time) stole a pic off the internet for the cover...they eventually resurfaced again as YORK...he dealt with court for years trying to free himself...lucky he had stuff in writing but warned me against them if they ever call...

Third hand for you but I trust the source...
