Good display for video editing?

Hi there. I just bought a Mac Pro and I need a new display to go with it. I do a lot of video editing and some graphics work. I don't use a broadcast monitor at home, so I need something that will produce good colors. Could anyone recommend a monitor? I'm not looking for something too expensive. Right now I'm looking at the Dell 2007WFP and Viewsonic VX2025WM. Thanks!

For TV work, a broadcast monitor (they start at about $500) will give you the best representation of what your image should look like. Next best thing is a CRT TV. And for monitoring video, the worst choice is any computer monitor (in my opinion).

If you want a computer monitor (obviously you need one to see the FCP interface), then the Dell LCDs are usually a good choice if you get a deal on them. Try hot deals sites for your country
gotapex.com

etc. etc.

You can use many types of monitors for checking how your video works on different types of equipment. Maybe you'll make a DVD which many will watch on their home theatre but many will do it on their computer.
