Good Codec..

Anyone here have any recomendations on compression settings/good codec to use?

My short film is 30min long...anamorphic aspect ratio..

I am using compressor at the moment.. but have not been able to find a decent trade in size/quality.... anyone have any insights?

The smallest I could get it is 207MB.... I'd like to go smaller if possible so I can post it online.

any particular compression settings people use?

Re: Good Codec..

Generally, I've been disappointed with using Compressor. I'll use either Cleaner or Sorenson Squeeze for compressing clips, using the Sorenson Video 3 Pro codec, which I think is the best for getting the smallest possible file while maintaining the highest picture quality possible.

Re: Good Codec..

I think 207mb for half hour is about as good as I've seen if it's good quality. I think beyond that you're going to be making compromises in size, speed etc

Re: Good Codec..

Try breaking it up into 4 smaller clips of 50 megs each... that should make it easier for you viewers to download/watch it.

What type of video is it? Fast action? or Mellow with slow pans and talking heads?
