Is there something I can make or even buy for under $300? I have a client and he wants this done by next wednesday. Thanks

For the lighting itself, there's plenty of DIY threads and vids out there that discuss good solutions you can pick up for cheap at home depot or something.
The problem I see is the chroma key work. To achieve a good key, you need to have enough similar lighting to properly/evenly light your backdrop as well as lighting your subject. For many green screen users, this means one rig for talent lighting, one for backdrop lighting, and either way it's adding a big cost to your production. Plus, your'e dealing with the constraints of not wanting your talent too close to the backdrop (bleeding) and so on.
I'd focus on getting a nice backdrop, white, whatever... and getting as many lights as you can get and forget the green screen on that budget. Just my opinion.

have you considered renting the lighting for half a day? or maybe even booking a local green screen studio for 1 or 2 hours?

Yes, but rather have my own equip. I'm looking at some tungsten light kits on amazon for $269 for a 3 peice kit.But still looking around

I agree, I own most of the equipment I use. But don't go cheap. rahter put away say 30% on every job you do and when you have enough money, buy the good stuff.

I agree with Derrick. Save and buy better gear. You will find yourself replacing cheap gear very fast. If you consider this expense it is better to buy quality the first time. SHop used Mole gear on Ebay.

I have a collection of the various spiral fluorescents systems and am very happy with them. Supplimenting with a hard light they are great because they are cheap and cool to the touch. I believe I will continue to work with these and save up for the LED litepanel type systems...I will not go back to hot lights save for my couple hard lights.
