I worked at a k-8 school in LA. During these years I was very interested in the Arabic language. One of my favorite students, Rachel, just so happened to be an Arabic speaker; she gave me this as a nickname. The name Rafiki is a Swahili word derived from the Arabic word rafiq, which means “friend.” (You might also recognize the name from the crazy monkey in the Lion King)
 
I haven't watched Lion King. I do familiar with name Rafiq. I was just curious were you Armenian or something. Not to start a nationalistic flame, but to some your prospective clients your ethnicity may be important.
 
How does one change one's user name?

I chose Me. Myself & I way back when anonymity made sense. Now I'd like to use my name.

cranky, I had never thought about the ethnicity standpoint. I can certainly see how that would be important to certain clients. I know for a face that it would be a big deal in the wedding video industry. I have noticed that it is typical for couples to hire within their own ethnic group. Esp Indian and other eastern cultures. Very tight knit communities.

And me myself and I, you need to message a moderator and request the change. Jason Ramsey was nice enough to help me out!
