I have been using a 14" Toshiba television as a monitor. I do a lot of work where quick set up's and portability of equipment is important. I am considering an LCD television or maybe even an Ikegami monitor. I have tried DV Rack but can't really seem to get it to work reliably (trial version on my laptop). Any suggestions?

check ebay - i noticed there are a lot of pro monitors really cheap on there .. i just got myself a $5k sony for $50 used .. granted it's not in perfect condition, but considering the price, i'ts way better than a TV could be. See if you can find someone local on ebay and go check it out in person - bring a camcorder with a tape with variou test pattersn and footage and dont forget an rca to bnc converter
