damn i love flyfishing....went to the Metolius River today....sooooo awesome

only caught one fish - and it was nothing special but the feeling is back!!

kinda sucks cause the snowboarding season is still going strong...i'm gonna have some serious decisions to weigh for the next couple of months...snowboarding or flyfishing, snowboarding or flyfishing....ah life is rough

I always thought the best fishing was on the shady banks of a lazy stream. Cut the hook off your line, replace it with a sinker. Toss it in, lay back with a good bottle of wine or a six pack and let the trouble of the day float away.
 
lol - isn't that just drinking??

if you think you like fishing but you've never been fly fishing....man it's a whole different world...talk about tuning in to the river....
 
I hear ya... though I'm a saltwater fly guy.

There is nothing like a bonefish ripping off 150 yards in one run.. in 14 inches of water.

Or a 180lb tarpon leaping 5 feet into the air on a 12 weight :)

I've got a film in pro-pro that has flats fishing as the backdrop.
 
I'm with you OregonDank......I love flyfishing! From making my own flies to hiking in to native trout, catch and release only rivers. Standing in the water, feeling the current, enjoying the scenery and hearing nothing but the sound of the water and the breeze. And then there's nothing like pulling in a native trout and then releasing it unharmed, watching it swim away in all it's grace and beauty.

I tried tying flies once, it's freaking hard. I've never been fly fishing before, looks like fun though. The metolius is such a nice river. I have a friend who lives in Terrebonne that's really into fly fishing. I'll have to try it sometime...
