Going from one NLE to another

Here's a dilema I hope someone can answer for me. I am about to shoot a sports show on several formats (Panasonic Varicam, Digi Beta, Beta SP, Mini DV). Digitizing will be done onto a few 500GB GRaid2 drives. I am more comfortable with FCP Studio, but also have Avid Xpress DV (v. 4.8.1). I will do some basic editing, but the post house I will use for the bulk of it uses Avid. Is there any way I can start this project on FCP, but then "transfer" it to Avid to bring it to my post house? Tell me if there are any necessary details I have left out. Thanks for any help.

Hmmmm... I'm not familiar with avid, but couldn't you just do your basic edits in FCP, then export it as a full quality quicktime movie and import it into AVID?

It'd be a huge file if you had to export the "bulk" of it, but I think it'd work (unless I'm missing something, here - which could be the case).

I know there are limitations, but isn't Automatic Duck made for stuff like this (xfering project files)? Although, it just might be easier to do it on Avid to begin w/then to take the time/effort to find a work around. Another thing to consider, correct me if I'm wrong, but I didn't think media capture by Avid was recognized by FCP and vice-versa.
