Going back to Tungsten, anyone experienced similar feelings?

I think we're still a ways away from manufacturers ending tungsten globe production, because they still have a place in many productions (and are still a staple in news studios and the like). Will we see a day when LED/Fluro/Etc. meet all our needs? Perhaps, but the technology still has a lot of growing to do. Beyond that, Hollywood will continue it's hot light use for quite some time because of it's attributes and how much of the equipment is already out there. We'd have to see a 60-80% drop in demand for them to really consider dropping production.
 
I hate hate hate LED lights!

I film a lot of live stuff. Most venues are switching to LED. It's so damn ugly. And they keep using pink, purple, violet colours that just destroy the footage. Also they fade in a very ugly way. The go a little less bright the die. "Real" light can fade to a lovely glow... Damn you, LEDs!
