Goin on down (a northern boy's trip)

So on saturday I'm heading down to the mysterious land of Los Angeles for the USC open house. It'll be my second time visiting the city, and first time at the school. Hoping like hell to get accepted to the school (like everyone else), so yeah. Any tips for me? It's going to be during a Trojan game, so the joint'll be packed, and this time I won't be there with my cousin (who's literally a barbarian from the NorthLands; 6'8", 320lbs.) so it could be a hectic little endeavour.

There are a couple of Holiday inn/Best Western-type motels in the Silverlake area (right off the US101 Silverlake exit). That puts you right by downtown and within convenient reach of the USC campus.

There are also a bunch of room-by-the-day-or-hour hotels closer in, if you are feeling adventuresome...
