Goin Nuts with Audio and Video

10 minutes ago, I could cut my audio track... and paste it somewhere else... or cut my video track and paste it somewhere else... Or I could just... delete my audio track or delete my video track... Or make either the video or audio track shorter... etc.

But for some reason, now whatever I try doing to the audio or the video... I end up doing to both... So say I delete my audio track... Than my video track gets deleted also when I dont want it to...

Can anybody please tell me how to fix this problem?

Also, everytime I save something, the file can't be found... So I have to pick "ignore missing file and leave it offline..."

Does anybody think this thing is posessed?

Please let me know...

Thanks

Yep – I’ve run into this. I think it’s usually is the “Ignore Event Grouping” button that is not set correctly. Also, I think that when you select a track to cut and paste, you need to make sure you have ONLY the track(s) you want to edit highlighted. That also catches me sometimes. Both are good and useable features, but you need to be conscious of selecting which you want.

Second problem - if you delete the source audio, then next time you start Vegas won't be able to find the files. I think that's what you are saying, but not sure.
