God Rays

I did a search and it yielded nothing (could be called something else perhaps?), but hopefully this hasn't been requested ad nauseum. Anyways, I'm looking for a method to create God Rays. I know a lot of it can be done in camera if proper hazing etc. is done, but I also know you can add it in post and would think AE would be the program to accomplish said feat.

Anyways, here's an idea of what I'm looking for and thanks again AE wizards:

What you're looking for is 'Volumetric Lights'... you can use 3rd Party Plugins such as Trapcode Shine, but you could also have a look at the following links or just Google.

CC light burst or CC light rays will get you close, both are included with AE. Also, Trapcode's 'Shine' plug-in is a popular choice for this type of effect - available from Red Giant software.

Trapcode Shine is definitely one of the best ways to go.

I would also look into Lux by Redgiant or use a 3D program to generate volumetric lights.
