-Go35 Beta Unit Review-

No. As I said before, it is postponed indefinitely. I need to start establishing a business with the SD and Pro before spending any more money on dev, and the HD is not currently up to par by, in financial terms, quite a long shot.

Great work on your adapter bklyndv. The full size clips are looking very nice. Be sure to let us know when you have the details on purchasing the SD and pro versions.

Sorry for asking a noob question but is there already a website for this adapter or will you be posting purchasing info here?

Official site: http://www.go-35.com/

I smell a update in the near future.

I think it was really brave from Jim to post static adapter footage of that low compression. Cinemek never did that.

I'll post purchase info here first, then the site will get updated as time/resources allow. I'll have the info together by Thursday. New full res clip on the way -- nothing mindblowing but someone requested a little more.

Here is that new footage: Reflections and Rack Focus (150mb)

Minor corrections done to the footage: the flip and on some clips, minor cropping. It seems the GL1's LCD does not show the full image area being recorded and consequently the zoom was off a little bit with rounded corners showing. I cropped that out. All shots with the SLR lens at f/4.0.

Looking good.

Have you been able to test this with a DVX or HVX yet?

I'm just curious since the DVC30 and GL1 images look solid.

Yeah -- DVX footage has been up for a while. This was back when I was using a cheap macro to stand in for the new achromat, so apologies for the chroma separation and edge issues:

The above shots are mixed 50mm f/1.4 at varrying apertures (2.0 - 11) and a f/2.8 80-200mm zoom, also at varrying apertures. You can see the grain creep in in the last clip in some shots where we didn't have enough incidental light due to overcast skies...

Very impressive.

I look forward to reading your update later this week.

2 questions:

One unrelated- Where are those sandy dune areas in 2 of your samples?

Two related - Will we see any pics of the adapter itself later this week?

The adapter itself is really just a black thorlabs tube with a achromat in the other end and a lens mount in the other.

I've been swarn to secrecy about the dunes. I'll give you a hint -- it's in Brooklyn :D

Sure, I'll post pics ASAP.

I think I know the area. It looks similar to Ft. Tilden in Queens.

I'll keep the Brooklyn secret though.
