Veteran
monster with powers pulls person from crouching to standing w/ power in hand.

Also another shot has a magic person hovering their hand over a corpse to empower it.


any suggestions on how to make a nice glow effect emit from the hands?

Duplicate your video layers. Do a simple animated mask around the hand on the top duplicated layer. Feather the mask a lot. If you have a Glow effect, try that, if not set the transfer mode on the top layer to Add or Screen. With the transfer mode, put a Blur on the top video layer as well. Should give it a glow look.
