Globalmedia Pro Issues Batteries

Is there a new law in the US - ordered about 14 batteries in the past - v mount from globalmedia pro.

but last round - 3 80 WH batteries have been stuck in US customs for over 2 months. TNT shipping has been no help. And Globalmedia says its my issue now. Serves me right for buying cheap batteries vs IDX or Anton Bauer.

anyone else have similar experiences?

I don't live in the US, but had similar problems in Europe. After some searches back then, I found that the customs don't like chemicals to be shipped. And batteries are chemicals. The risk factor of such an item is much bigger and therefor it takes longer to process. I also had to pay 50% taxes in cash when the postman delivered it.

Now, that happened because the carrier was non-EU. When you let FedEx handle the shipment you will receive your item immediately as they have their own "customs". I also receive an invoice for the import taxes a week later giving me 30 days to pay for it. Much more friendly as paying with cash at the door..
