Global effects controls?

I have a short film that uses 73 clips. I'm in the grading phase and am pretty much done, but what if I decide to tweak one clip and have the others match. The best solution I've been able to find on my own has been to copy the clip I'm using as a master and "paste effects" on the other clips, which I feel is clumsy. What I'm really concerned with is tweaking a clip that is used a bazillion times througout the story and having to search through the timeline index to change the rest. Does anyone know of a way to adjust the effects values for multiple clips at once?

How about assigning a "sub Role" to that particular clip.
Then select that sub-Role, and the clips should all he highlighted. Copy and paste attributes to only those clips.

Yeah I am learning more and more the powerful usage of Roles.
The only thing that this adds is a bit more time up front in meta tagging things.

However the time you can save overall in your edit really is cut down considerably.
The only reaon that I ahven't switched to FCPX for all of my editing are some stability issues (mainly Apple really ahs to fix the memory leak in FCPX, and find a way for the program to dump memory while your in a long edit. Otherwise you can run into lockup problems. Also I still do quite a lot of DVD production and would like to be able to add chapter markers in FCPX. I still like to use markers for long edits to mark certain points in my edit for reference as well as chapter purposes. So rather than needing to take the extra steps in performing the task in Compressor, it would be convenient to be able to do this in FCPX. I won't talk about multi cam because that will be coming later.

Besides that I love a low of things about FCPX.

Thanks for the answers guys. I haven't been using roles and it looks like I should be...
