I was just wondering how they made the rain (shine, and glimmer) in the Rihana video, Umbrella. It happens from 1:22 - 1:44 in the video, heres a link, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mrTUhkN7RFA
Thanks.

that's not water. it's glitter/confetti.
I would just keep it heavily backlit against a dark background. the contrast in luminosity will make it pop. a higher shutter speed could have an appropriate effect on it too.See thats what I thought it was.
I was wondering if I added glitter into the water before I began the raining scene, and then kept it very backlit then maybe, I can achieve a similar effect. The movie I'm working on asks to have the rain somewhat glimmer and shine.
