Glidetrack SD Shooter 0.75m (on a tripod)?

I'm debating what size of glidetrack SD Shooter to get and I have read that 0.5 is great on a tripod "no wobble" and portable, but lacks enough room to get a good slide. I also read that the 1m is a good length but is not very sturdy on a tripod. Has anyone used the 0.75 meter as a slider, especially mounted on a tripod? Also is it acceptable as a bare minnimum shoulder rig, or is it getting too long? Would love to hear someones expereience with it. Thanks
