Glidecam Forearm or Body Pod

Hello

This weekend I finished my glidecam and it worked great except one thing. It was heavy. I mean I could only shoot for a very short time. I'm not a body builder but maybe I should start working out or something because this things get heavy after a while of shooting. Anyway I don't think I'm going to try and build the arm, not in my job description and I will save up my money to buy the full rig. In the mean time I want to use the glidecam I made. I was thinking about the glidecame forearm or the body bod. Each has it limitation and just wanted to know any suggestions about either. I was so excited about the results but was very dissipointed about the amount of time I could use it.

We use the forearm brace, it does help. The body pod is not really an appropriate device for using the gliding of the glidecam, it's more for allowing you to act as a mobile tripod (i.e., you stand somewhere with the glidecam strapped to your chest, then you walk somewhere else and repeat, etc). The Body Pod doesn't have an arm and doesn't do any smoothing of the motion. The forthcoming SmoothShooter turns your Glidecam into an actual articulated arm type of device, and would probably be the best of all worlds, but of course it'll be the most expensive option.

Thanks Barry
I have been looking at the smooth shooter. Can you use the SmoothShooter with the Glidecam 2000 or is it just for the Glidecam 4000? Are their limitation to the SmoothShooter as to being able to run with the rig. For that cost of just 1,400 and some change I would thank as the saying goes you get what you pay for. My Glidecam is something I made and my guess if I bought the SmoothShooter I would have to buy the Glidecame as well. I have been seeing a lot o Glidecam 2000 on ebay and was just wondering what the difference was.

Don't know that much about the Smooth Shooter, I intend to check it out at NAB. It's my understanding that the 2000 and 4000 are nearly identical, the 4000 is just a little bigger.

Cool, I know you will have a complete review upon your return. If so I hope to hear good things. Till then thanks again for your info.
