Glidecam and Letus Extreme OK?

The glidecam bodypod isn't really a good alternative to a proper steadicam, it dosnt isolate body movment so any walking or movment is transfurred to the camera and it is just as bumpy as before. The body pot effectivly turns you into a tripod.

Also, being in the steadi-community, I have heard nothing but bad things about the glidecam hand held stabalizers. They are apparently very hard to balance, and seasoned steadicam operators often find it hard to get a good balance with them. Also because the handle is not along the post or directly under the centre of gravity, the weight of the rig pulls down on your hand and your wrist has to work hard to hold it up straight, it can be quite fatiguing holding that thing for any length of time.

I have flown all sorts of cameras with adapters on my steaidicam rig, and as long as you tigthen all the knobs up and make sure everything is secured, its usualy pretty easy to work with. Its better to configure your system to snorkel up if your using a flip, as the weight of the camera high up makes it harder to balance.
