Hey All,

For those of you who have the Glidecam 2000, 4000 or something similar....

Have you used the body-pod or the arm brace? Are either or both of these necessary/helpful? I am buying the 4000, and thinking of just getting the body-pod vest with it?

Thoughts? Thanks!

Re: Glidecam Accessories

The body pod is pretty good. You're basically turning your body into a tripod.

Total waste of money.

Re: Glidecam Accessories

..agreed. it will take the weight off your arm, but your arm is the best shock absorber in the whole system .. thats like attaching a steadicam sled directly to your body with a rigid pole instead of having the shock absorbing spring tensioned arm hold it.

same for the arm brace IMHO it removes your wrists ability to absorb shock and shake from the equation. and you wrist does the most out of the whole arm with a handheld unit. so again your trading functionality for comfort. which is fine if you care more about being comfortable then getting a good stabilized shot. .. not to say its undoable with either of the afformentioned products.. its just a step backwards.

Re: Glidecam Accessories

Neil, I'll have to disagree with you on the arm brace. I use it with my Glidecam 4000 and there is no noticeable difference from the shock my arm will absorb without it.

The body brace will compromise the steadiness of your shot greatly so definitely don't go with that.
