Hello All,

This post is in response to a call I received earlier today from a DVXuser member...We both thought it would be worthy of mention here on the forum, as it may help a few people.

(Caller): Question - How can I quickly remove my camera from a Bogen 501, or 503 head to a Glidecam system, and what adapter plate do I need?

Answer: The Bogen 501 head (aka 3433 head), and 503 head (aka 3460 head) are both supplied with the 3433 PL (PL is short for plate) which is the plate that attaches to the camera.

The accessory, or adapter plate that can be used to allow you to move your camera and the attached 3433 PL is the Bogen 577....see below

"RAPID CONNECT ADAPTER ASSEMBLY W/ SLIDING MOUNTING PLATE / Cat. No: 577
The 577 gives you the freedom to remove the camera from the head without detaching it from the plate and put it on any other support."

The 577 has two threaded inserts in the bottom of it, one threaded insert is a 1/4" in size, and the other is 3/8" in size...This will allow you to attach it to the "head plate" of the Glidecam 2000 Pro, 4000 Pro, V-8, V-16, or V-20 system using either a 1/4" or 3/8" screw which are provided with the Glidecam.... All of these systems have either 1/4" size holes, or 3/8" size holes in the "head plate"

So, with the Bogen 577 attached to the "head plate" of the Glidecam, you can then quickly move your camera and attached 3433 PL from the Bogen 501, or 503 head to the Glidecam.

Hope that this helps!

I can be reached at tomh@glidecam.com

Best Regards,

Thomas Howie
