Hey everyone, I am trying to find the manual for a Glidecam 4000. Is there anywhere online I can download one? I haven't been able to find one anywhere.

their websites has tutorials and setups.

by the way. i own a glidecam2000 pro and am trying to figure out the diffrence between the two models. so far i see that its only the length of the shaft at the bottom. is this true?

juvi i scanned the manual and i could send you the pages but they are made in photosudio, a canon app. IM me and i could send you one page to see if you could open it, they are in fact jpegs...and if you can, i'll send you the whole thing.

and papa, yea, i think those are the only differences, but they must mean why one can take 6 lbs and the other 10. i have the 4000 because i wanted to have the insurance of being able to mount stuff on the camera, like lcd monitor, mic, mattebox, etc....and i'm gonna get a 35mm adapter/rails system which will be at least a pound i think. i was lucky, i got my 4000 for $200 on ebay, used, but in new condition. how are you getting used to your 2000, balancing, etc?

balancing is fine now. getting pretty quick at it.

but like you said, and ive noticed, the onl ydifferent between the two models are the bottoms shaft length and the number of weights supplied. i am hoping to easily find a tube i can replace at the bottom to allow it to handle more weight, as i too will be adding a 35mm adatper and a lcd monitor ( not sure how to do that one )

oh man absolutely.

i found the perfect balance for these guys, pretty simple actually.

first things first. make sure that your weights are placed tangent to the three sides on each end.

to find the amount of weight and length of the pole, do the verticle test. hold your camera and glidecam infront of you horizontally, facing down, and let the weight end go, it should take about 1.5 seconds before it reachers verticle, thi way youll know if your pole is long enough and if you have enough weight. from then i only ever have to balance the top, and as long as i have a flat surface to work with, it doesnt take more than 3 minutes.
