Glidecam 4000 and Letus35 Extreme? Arm Brace..will it work?

Hey all,
I got the Glidecam 4000 and arm brace, and it should come by the weekend. I am curious as to if anyone has used it yet with the Letus35mm adapter? It holds up to ten pounds. I'm using it mostly for out of focus floating shots, as well as some insert floating past the woods type shots. (20mm lens)

I will also be using it without the Letus for some documentary shoots, but I was wondering about the Letus and the arm brace with the Glidecam 4000?

I do not have money for Smooth Shooter right now, so has anyone used it without smooth shooter, yet with the arm brace and Letus35mm? Is it doable?
 
My roommate has the glidecam 4000 and we've used the HVX+Letus and lens and it worked out great, just make sure you balence it write and tighten the springs to get it perfect. We also did a shoot where we have an HVX and a ring light all rigged to the 4000.

well actually, do you just have the glidecam or did you also pick up the chest vest and "balance arm" also. If you have all of them then your set, i don't think it will work if you just have the glidecam 4000.
 
thought i chime in here since i own a GC4000 + smooth shooter + hvx + RR adaptor. I recently tested my set up (without RR adaptor) past weekend on a wedding. Wanted to test footage outside while the bride and groom were taking pics outside with enough light, outside. While i dont expect to see great results since this was my first test im excited to see the smooth flow of the hvx footage. :eek:

When i get to viewing the footage i'll see if i can post some pics... maybe a small clip.. Again, im not expecting anything great so i'll warn you in advance it will prob suck. Anyways thought i chime in. Oh, balancing the weight on my GC4000 was pretty easy. I think i used about 9-10 weight plates at the bottom of the GC to get the HVX balanced well. Other small adjustments near the base of the hvx and plate were needed as well.
 
Like someone said before. "... without a vest get ready to hit the gym."

I own the Smooth Shooter and with LEX it hit the limits of the weight capacity without FF and matte box. (18 lbs. complete rig)
 
I own a dvx100 + letusflip + GC4000
Another thing that is good is the more weight you use with your Glidecam4000
the smoother the system is. (assuming you stay within the weight regulations )
It can be tricky tho
