Glidecam 4000 and dvx100a

hey all-

i just inherited a glidecam 4000 from a friend that upgraded, but i was wondering if it would work with my dvx100a. i looked at the manual and found that the camera weighed 3.73 lb by itself and the glidecam 4000 supported cameras from 4-10 pounds.

is there anyone out there that's used a glidecam 4000 with the dvx100a?

experiences?

just shorten the length of the shaft as much as possible, then add the proper amount of weight to make sure the horizontal fall test takes 1.5 seconds.

then your set for the weight issue, the rest is up to balancing the head of it.
 
I used the Glidecam 4000 on my short film Sunshine with a DVX100b. It works fine but getting the balance just right is a little tricky.
 
I own a Glidecam 4000 and a DVX but I havent even used the glidecam yet. I figured the 4000 is better lol.
