Glidecam 2000 clone

Ok guys. I got my CNC back online and picked up the needed aluminum bar.

I made one yoke piece. Took a little longer than expected but came out nicer than mine.

This is the actual one you'll get.

First $35 gets it. Paypal me $40 (includes shipping) to paypal@pocketlogger.com

No bearings, no holes. If you want I can bore a hole through the tips. But the size would all depend on exactly what bearings you are using so I'd rather not....

Hmm no. Just the yoke piece you see in the pic above. People said they were interested so I bought some metal to make them but no now no one wants it.

Well if anyone IS interested in that piece, make me an offer. I made it so it might as well not go to waste. Good thing I only made one.

turbo2ltr, i feel you. I remember everyone saying they wanted to buy that peice from you, and now you made an extraordinardy peice which proballly took a bit of time and work, and now no-one is taking. i thought youd sell it within the first hour. Right now, i dont need that peice. But i hope someone else remembers the promises they made and pays up.

Well, I'm not trying to point fingers and I don't think anyone really promised to buy one. I guess "if you build it, they will buy" doesn't apply here. hehehe. I'll think twice before I spend money up front on something like this next time...

It's here if someone wants it.

Turbo.. you sound like a good guy. I hope someone needs it and can incorporate it into their rig. I don't like seeing anyone stuck with anything.

Best of luck.. great machinework, btw..

Dude - nice work! From what I read people were interested in the whole gimbal assembly so maybe you'd have more luck by selling them assembled and ready to stick on a rod?

I started working on the X-Y plate..

This will be where the sled connects to the pole.

Then it connects to the plate:

The two go together and provide side to side adjustablity as well as +/- .7" forward and back adjustability.

There will be a second plate that provides the front/back sliding. haven't made it yet.

Turbo,

Nice job!

Only watch the weight!!!!! especially of parts above the gimble point.

Every ounce you add above the balance point will have to be balanced and added
to the bottom weights, You might end up with a beautiful device only too heavy for hand held.

yeah, those top pieces are lookng mighty hefty.

just so you know my glidecam 2000 is light as a feather up top with that sliding plate, its really really light.

you would know this more than me, but try just drilling holes in areas that arent necessary for unitlity and then counter it exactly opposite with another hole, and repeat the step till its light enough?

Ultimately, it will be on a steadycam arm so I'm not *too* concerned with weight, but it is a valid point.

I put the plate on weight watchers.

Got it down to about 6.4 oz. Still have to work on the "T".

Thanks for your input guys!
