Giving in to impulses.

It's rainy and cold outside, and I'm sitting in my room, working on a script and surfing DVXuser. Then, out of nowhere, the urge to jump on the trampolene hits me. I look outside, and it's coming down pretty hard.

What to do, what to do.

Well let me tell you guys something. As I've just discovered, jumping on a trampolene in the rain is one of the greatest things on this planet. The water makes the mat heavier, so you go higher. And the rain coming down on you takes a little getting used to, but after a while becomes refreshing.

CAUTION: Do not attempt backflips, the rain makes the mat too slippery to get a good landing down.

Re: Giving in to impulses.

TC, go finsih your script or else your going to catch a cold.

I like jumping on the trampling with my girlfriend in the rain. It makes it so much funner--is that a word.

Re: Giving in to impulses.

Beware: I did a shoot for 20/20 about 4 years ago where the topic was trampoline safety. The whole piece involved talking to people who were now in wheelchairs because of the damn things. The guy we talked to broke his neck and now he's a quadriplegic.

I'd hate to see anybody on this board become a living dollie. :'(

Re: Giving in to impulses.

My rainy day indulgence was eating some hot split pea soup.

mmmmmmhmmmmmm.

If I really want to get extravagant, I would just take a nice little nappy nap.

Re: Giving in to impulses.

Damn it Horse- ruin all my fun.

Just kidding, I would hate to be in a wheel chair because of a trampolene. I would have a vendetta against fun.

You are taking an innocent thread about trampoline jumping and turning it into filth?

shame..oh, the shame! it is people like you that make it hard to be a kid these days!

Re: Giving in to impulses.

TC-

That is very cool that you would share that experience.

My only trampoline experience is a triumphant one. Gym class, 7th grade. Me: geeky non-athletic introvert.

The instructor (aka Mr. deSade) drags out a mini-tramp into the middle of the gymnasium. "Everyone run and bounce off this trampoline, one at a time. Form a line here."

Ok, fine, we do that, iterating through, several times.

"Anyone want to... try a flip?" queries deSade.

Silence.

Finally, I think, I can do this. i signal I'll do it, and deSade and his coach-like assistant take their places next to the trampoline.

Without hesitation, I ran up, jumped, bounced off the tramp, did a 360-degree flip, and landed on my feet.

A murmur came from the other guys in my class, and after that, I was 'Mr. He'll do anything' guy. Respect.

:)
