Gitzo Boompole Disagrees With K-SSM Shockmount

While a highly recommended twosome for the Octavia hypercardiod, I am clearly overlooking something to keep the shockmount from loosening off the boompole. What's the trick?
 
i think you need to give us a little more info?

my gitzo has a ring that allows you to tighten the threaded end against the pole or against the shockmount.

Yeah I have a Gitzo pole and K-SSM it works fine. Check the screw and K-SSM hole hopefully nothings slightly threaded or anything. I noticed if lack on the tightening it can loosen.
 
I just got the Gitzo G557 Boom Pole and the Sambra Shockmount but they don't fit together. i didn't think I had to buy anytthing else to hook them together?? The screw on the end of the Gitzo is way to small to screw on to the sambra.... what am I missing??
 
check the other end, the gitzo i have has a double sided stud for going into the mic support.

i have used my gitzo and my k-tek with the sabra som mounts no problem.

i just got one of their 4 way mounts for testing/comparing mics and for playing around with some other stuff.

The other end is even smaller, one end is 3/8" the other is 1/4". The end of the Sabra and my new Oktave is 5/8" which i guess would be more for Mic Stands? So I guess Gitzo must make a 5/8" mounting screw or maybe Sabra but I can't seem to find one. Any Ideas?
