Hey guys, I hope this is the right forum for this, I wanted to point out the website of a company that wants your short funny videos to distribute on cell phones, its called Fun Little Movies, and you should really check it out.

They are looking primarily for episodic pieces that run from 1 to 3 min per episode, I know there are a lot of really talented and funny guys around here so if you have funny material they might be interested.

They have contracts with a number of companies including sprint and Microsoft. The way it works is they have a subscription based fee (4.95 per month), so for example when people on sprint sign up for their channel sprint keeps half the fee and sends on the rest, then Fun Little Movies keeps half of that and splits the other half with the artists based on their metrics. I’ve had a couple of pieces play on their system and while the money isn’t huge as yet it should grow steadily as the number of video capable cell phones increases.

And in the interest of public disclosure yes I do work for the company, they liked my pieces so much they brought me on as a writer /director / office manger / etc.

So if you do decide to submit, tell ‘em Joe sent ya.

Mythfit,

I went to the website and tried to watch some of the previews but couldn't view them. It states that it requires Explorer 5.5 or higher, I'm using Mozilla so I guess that might be where the problem is. But it does say 5.5 or higher and Firefox is certainly higher.

I thought since you mentioned that you work there I would bring this to your attention. I don't know if there are others who use something other than Explorer having the same difficulty, but there are certainly more and more people switching browsers.

Thanks ChuckS your right, the videos won't play on mozilla yet, were working on it, mozilla is my browser of choice as well.

Pookie, the only rights you sign over are a license for cell phone distribution, all other rights remain with the artist. I'm trying to be very upfront here, I came into this as an artist and I'm very excited about the opportunities in what’s really a new medium.

And btw, its just half of a half. =)
