Gimbals and monitoring solutions...

How is everyone monitoring on a gimbal (Ronin, Came, MōVI, etc)? Wired or wireless? If wired, does the HDMI / SDI cable cause any balancing or obstruction issues? Interested to hear your experiences...

There are some very flexible and small diameter HDMI cables on the market, they are missing things like the ethernet wires and a few others, supposed to be good for this type of use. Very thin and sort of flexible coax can be purchased, but it needs to be a "fairly" short run, haven't worked with any in a long time so not sure what is on the market right now.

If you need a monitor anyway, might as well use it as a better recorder as well, am I right? :-)

The Odyssey7Q+ mounted onto the crossbar of a Movie, Ronin or other rig is quite popular. For connection to the camera, we include our own Ultra-Thin SDI cable with the unit, which is also available for purchase separately. For HDMI, I suggest using the Sanho HyperThin cables. Frankly, for on or near camera cabling I always suggest these two solutions as I detest thick, inflexible cables hanging on my rig.
