"Ghosting" when burning 24p to a DVD in ENCORE

Hello

I was wondering if anybody knew what I was doing wrong here.

I filmed my project with a DVX100b in 24p, not 24pa, 24p mode.

I open up adobe premiere pro 2.0, create a 24p timeline using their presets - capture my footage, edit it, render it, export it as an uncompressed .avi file.

Then when I go to import the .avi file into Encore, it recognizes it as 29.97fps, not 23.976fps. This puzzled me but I burned the project to a DVD and I go to play it on my DVD player on my NTSC television.

Whenever I make a "cut" between scenes in the film, for 2 frames there are semi transparent images of the scene preceeding and happening after it so it looks like I have a bunch of 2 frame dissolves on every cut even though I didn't do that in the timeline.

Does anybody know how to fix this?

Is this an encore thing?

Thanks!

P.S.
When I've uploaded my video online to places like youtube there are no "ghosting" issues and when I play the uncompressed .avi file on my computer there are no issues either.

When dealing with P and PA, its always best to make your mpeg-2 23.976 out of your NLE and then hand it over to the authoring software. You'll have greater control over whats happening, and you can also export small 30s tests to make sure everything is good.
