Well, they're back...sort of. Seems that Bill Murray finally gave into Dan Ackroyd and agreed to be part of a new Ghostbusters sequel. Thing is, it's a video game.
Not just a movie licensed game, but a game written by Dan Ackroyd and Harold Ramis as a true sequel to the first two films and will feature the voices of all of the original Ghostbusters as well as a lot of the supporting cast such as Annie Potts and William Atherton (Peck from the EPA).
So, Dan Ackroyd is able to finally get this project underway after almost 20 years of trying. I think it's safe to say that it would have never hit the big screen (due to Bill's reluctance to be in it). As a GB fan, I would have loved to see another film but it wasn't meant to be.
So what do you guys think? Are video games becoming a feasible outlet for filmgoers to have an interactive expanded experience within their favorite movie worlds or just more money motivated merchandising?
