Anyone else here do it?
I dont go "ghost hunting" persay. BUT, the film we're working on requires freaky locations. So, we've been to some really scary places. Here's a few:
Pennhurst State Hospital- shut down because of abuse to patients, over crowded, patients being raped, murdered, etc. There's a court case on it if you're skeptical. This was one of the first places we visited. Let me just say that its the scariest place i've ever been too. In the tunnels we heard a girl scream . I am a very skeptical person, but if you knew me you'd know i wasnt lying about that. I dunno if someone was messing with us or if it was something more. You can also hear all kinds of things- and i'm one to say its your imagination- but this place, it was different.
Jim Thorpe- I posted some pics of the town. But there's much more that goes on around there. If you do a google search you can find tons of ghost stories about that town. The old Jail has tons of them; i talked to the lady that owns it( the one thats letting us use it for our film) and she said she sees/hears things all the time, and she somehow just accepts them. She's a very nice lady.
Centralia, PA- Probably home to one of the scariest nights in my life. There's an abandoned highway as well as a trail through the woods through the old abandoned mines. The highway is just freaky- and there's a bum that lives in the building next to it. Other then that- I havent seen much on the highway. The trails are what's scary. First off there's smoke everywhere from the collapsed mine. The trail leads up the mountian (we did some fun off roading there with mah jeep
) We left the jeep, and walked on foot. After about 5 mins of walking we came up to this graveyard- greek orthodox i think. anyway- i looked about a hundred yards to the right along side the stone wall and saw two eyes staring at us. They were there long enough for both of my friends to see. Whatever it was, it took off into the woods. It was def. large- about our height- but all i could see was a dark figure. We followed it into the woods; last time we saw it was when it quickly zipped over the hill. At first i thought it could be a bear or something- but I dont think bears run on two legs. Couldve been a bum i guess- scary none the less.
After that, we were pretty freaked, so we decided to head back. On the way back we found another path and decided to check it out. The trees formed almost a tunnel, and they were extremely thick. I went ahead of the guys, about 10 feet into the trail. All of the sudden a rush of wind blew into me- i'm not talking a breeze, i'm talkin a RUSH of wind. It actually blew my clothing around. It got really cold all the sudden. Being skeptical, I went back to my friends and tried it again; same deal. So then we left; i think i **** my pants that night....I dont remember.
Anyway, I went back 3 weeks later- this time alone; and at night. That night I had a horrific nightmare that actually was a linear story. I shook it off- and went to get the pics I posted on the website a few months ago. That night also i had a horrific nightmare.
About a month ago we visited a place called Virginville. Its home to these radical cultists known as the wicka's. We stay away from their house- its just weird. If you pass sometimes you can just see them standing toward the west- or east, i forget. anyway, we found this abaondoned church with an old graveyard- graves dating back to the 1800's. We stopped the jeep, got out, and walked into the middle of the graveyard. Nothing happened for about 5 mins...we just stood their- talkin and smoking. Then we heard something; one of the guys was like "holy **** what was that! what...what is that smell...smells....smells like something dead!" a few seconds later a skunk came out from behind one of the graves. ;D
We moved to the opposite side of the graveyard, away from the skunk. There were these three gravestones- shaped like heads. My friend took a few pics of them. all of the sudden we heard what sounded like several people running around us...but there was nothing in sight. My friend beside me stumbled to his knees. he couldnt speak or see anything. later on that night he told us he felt like he was in a crowded room- he said he heard voices all over.
I have to stop now- i'm writing too much lol. dont be weirded out when you read this- i'm just telling you guys what i've experienced. I'm in no way shape or form saying i dont or do believe in paranormal activity. All I know is that some freaky things have happened while visiting some of our film locations- coincidence? i'm not sure.
