Hey,
I have a kowa bell and howell on my nokton voigtlander 42,5mm 0.95 mounted. Fstop was 4. But my image isnt really that sharp. (link

I expected it too be less sharp, but this is really unsharp. Did I misfocus, tried several things, like moving the focus around? Should I bump up sharpness in camera?
The image was shot in low light at iso 1600 hence the noise.
Any tips??

Thanks!

Have you tried a close focus diopters on the front? Just hold anything you might have in front and see if it sharpens up at the correct lens to object distance for the diopter in use, i.e. a +1 at 1 meter. Focus on Lens should then be around infinity.

Thanks, I do not have any diopters anymore, need to buy some again. Tonight I will first focus my taking lens and then place the anamorphot and try to focus then. See what happens :)

Using a proper adapter (redstan), and many talking lenses, I never had a sharpness issue with my 8Z/16H. Even on a 5D3/BMPCC it was extremely sharp. I never used diopters either. Not sure what is the problem, but this isn't right, diopters will help but you should first understand what is wrong with your lens/process.

Yeah I was gonna buy a redstan, but his website was down at that time, and I figured he quit. So i ordered from vid-atlentic. Yesterday I found his website was back online....

Yeah I figured out what was wrong. The vid atlantic clamp does not go all the way over my anamorphot lens. I just sent them an email asking if they have a solution.

They have been kind enough to reply to me:

We do have a clamp that's sort of an in between this clamp and the XL Clamp that would fit better. The thread mounting size is 72mm though, so you'd need step up rings. Would you like to try this clamp instead?

I Would like to try one I think, or do you think it is a bad idea because there will be again more space because I need another step up ring? Do you guys use a lot of step up rings?

Thanks!
