GG for spinner which method?

Hi guys, i would like to make GG for spinner out of float 3mm glass. and i need to make different grits, 5, 9, 15 and 20 micron. I was reading somewhere the method of etching... what grit size that method makes? how to achieve different grit sizes?

also, did anyone made his own spinner gg out of glass? how much light is expected to loose? at redrock they claim only 0,5 stops, which is almost unbelievable...
