Getting used to Nattress Plugins

I just got my Nattress Film Effects plugins the other night and have been impressed with some of the looks so far. One thing I noticed and wanted to ask is why when you put a filter on a clip with motion, I get interlaced lines on the screen? There is some sort of motion in every clip of this video project I am working on. I used the preset for Basic Warm for most of my clips. I adjusted the De-interlace option there and then I added another G Fast De-interlace filter and adjusted the tolerance all the way down to 2 and that seemed to take those lines out. The footage was shot 24p. Also how do you use those Smart Masks? I don't know what I am looking for when that comes up. Just looks like the clip is inverted so I can see what I am doing when I make adjustments but I don't really know what to look for. So far the plugins are pretty cool.
 
I think I have to change the order of the filters in the stack to get better results. When I put the De-interlacer filter at the bottom of the stack I got better results. Not sure why this happens everytime I put a plugin filter on a clip though.
