Getting started? CONFUSED...

I just opened AE 6.5 up and man I am confused. Is there any good tutorials out there starting at the very beginning? I've found a lot of AE tutorials but nothing explaining what this is, what this does, etc.

i highly recommend you get a book. i think any book you find at the book store will be extremly helpfull. its too big a progam to just go at it with out a book or a friend who knows it.

or DVD training. Adobe total training is pretty good. I think you can download portains from the adobe site for free.

That's actually how I learned AE, just by following those tuts step by step, doing several a day for a few weeks. Tho I knew other Adobe soft very well and it helped. GL :thumbsup:

Yeah, cant really find many English books in China, let alone Adobe AE books. Those links look great, thanks!

I'm about half way through Creating Motion Graphics volume 1 and it is fantastic. If there is any way to get it I would definitely do it. Everything is explained in easy to understand language and it has sample projects for everything. I looked at several other books first and nothing comes close.
