Getting Older

I gotta tell ya, I'm loving the mid-30s. Young enough not to have lost any energy; haven't wrinkled up; in good shape . . .

And not dismissed out of hand for being too young.

No, Shiite?!

Dude...implants cost $900 each here, and insurance won't cover new-fangled things. I just got 4 (removable) molars for $1000.

So I can still afford a broadcast monitor. Gotsta set your priorities. :)

There's 7 years between my husband and I and I so often tease him about being an old man. When he hit 40, I must have spent $300 on "over the hill" stuff. He's 43 now... I turned 36 in January.

And I HEAR you. I was reminded yesterday that "The Breakfast Club" came out 20 years ago! When did it happen that 1990 was 16 years ago? I'm out of highschool almost 20 years (when did THAT happen??)... my daughter has gotten to the age where boys are no longer icky (ack!), and my stepson is driving off to college next year. I THOUGHT I was doing fine with turning 36, but suddenly, out of the blue, I'm feeling pretty darn old ;)

But ya know what? Really, you're only as old as you feel (and pretend to be). I refuse to stop wearing converse, to have a more "adult" hair style, and I still shop at Hot Topic from time to time ;) -- and nothing, nothing in a million years, would keep me from my creative streak.

BTW, I recently heard on the news "they" did a study... and you are at your creative peak in your 40's (according to how the brain develops/functions)... so there's still something to look forward to! ;)

I started making films back in high school (Super 8). That was 30 years ago! Now, my son, 18 and just out of high school is making films too. That can make you fell old, but young again at the same time.

If your mind and spirit are young, you'll be fine. The body might disagree.
