Getting from FCP to DVD Studio Pro

I'm sorry for these beginners questions:

Am I correct that to get my FCP project to DVD Studio Pro I export the edited
cuts to a QuickTime Movie and then pull them in as assests to DVD Studio Pro?

Is there any other way to do this? Does this maintain the highest quality info
or is there another format I should use to get my SD video over to DVD Studio?

Thanks!

you should export your sequence "using compressor" out of final cut. This will allow you to set your compression settings for mpeg2, and then take those m2v and audio files into studio pro.

So let me see if I've got this right.

First I select all of my sequences.
Then I export them to Compressor.
In Compressor I specify MPEG-2 under "setting" in the Batch window.
I make sure Destination is somewhere I can find.
Then hit "Submit"?

IS there anyway to select MPEG-2 for all of the sequences at once
or do I need to do each one at a time?

Thanks!

i always just do them at once. Are you going to create your dvd with individual scenes or one big video track? Because you can set chapter points in final cut that will translate into studio pro, saving you time.

Sorry, I was so tired I had to go to bed.

I helping my son make a short training video. There are 20 days of exercises.
Each will be a menu choice. I have 20 sequences; one for each day. The only
chapter points I really need are the start of each day. Really pretty simple.

I sucessfully used compressor to make MPEG-2 files. Now I'll see how they
get into DVD Studio.

Argh.

It processed the files for a long time and created an MPEG directory, but it is
empty. I'm not sure where the MPEG files are(n't) being created.

Back to the manual...
