Getting FOV equivalent to 35mm cine lenses

I have a Brevis/Flip and want to know at what zoom level I would get equivalent FOV to 35mm cine lens?

Is there a chart somewhere that states the FOV of cine lens at say like 10ft?

If I knew a 50mm at 10ft shoud see an area like 8'x4' then I could find my appropriate zoom level..

according to my handy FOV/DOF calc on my iphone, a 50mm at 10 feet gives you 4' 4.8" x 2' 5.7"

this is at 16:9 aspect which i assume you are shooting. if not, 2:1 gives you 4' 4.8" x 2' 2.4"

if you have an iphone, download "isee4k". it's really a utility app for RED but calculates DOF and FOV based on 35mm film (cinema) as well as RED 4k, 2k, etc.

but now that you have the specs for 35mm cinema film FOV, it should be noted that 35mm adapters using SLR lenses are capable of full frame 35mm still film FOV. this means wider FOV and relatively shallower DOF than 35mm cinema film is capable of. this is desirable to a lot of people.
