Getting flickering on my 1x1 light panel with battery power. Help?

Purchased a gold mount to NPF adapter here:http://www.amazon.com/ILED-Battery-...=1409252212&sr=8-1&keywords=gold+mount+to+npf
Using NPF-550 generic batteries with this combo. I can use the light at 50% brightness but when I dial up the intensity past that, I'm getting major flickering. I don't know much about electrics in general but the batteries are 7.4v. Is there a compatibility issue or is the adapter broken?

Any help is much appreciated.
 
Getting feedback from the maker that it's a battery issue. The NOVA is a 100w draw and those little guys aren't enough.

Unsure if moving to 2 NPF970s will fix it or if I'll need to just pony up for the Gold Mount battery.
