Getting files to play on PC

Hey all. I need to take a FCP project from Mac and get it to work in Premiere Pro on a windows machine. I have already exported the FCP .xml and gotten it to work in PremierePro on my mac, but it seems that the video files were captured in ProRes and will not play on a PC. Therefore, I will need to convert these 1600+ HD files to something lossless and windows-friendly.

Since I now have both a PremierePro CS5 and Final Cut pro 6 project working with all the files, I can use either program to convert them.

I have tried downloading a plug-in for QuickTime for my PC to allow me to use the ProRes files, but it does not work. The ProRes files will play in Windows Media Player, VLC or Media Player Classic with sound, but the video is a blank white screen. Any attempt to play them in QuickTime will result in the splash screen saying that 3rd party plugins are needed, but no matter how many times I uninstall and reinstall the plugin or QuickTime, it will never actually work.

Thanks!!!

All you need to do is download the ProRes Quicktime Decoder for Windows. ProRes files play just fine in Premiere Pro.

It does not work at all on my 64bit windows 7 PC with the CS5 master collection (retail, not hacked)
The files wont play in QuickTime, either. I downloaded it several times, installed it several times and even reinstalled QuickTime several times.

You must be doing something wrong...is this what you're downloading?

There's nothing to it...just execute and it installs. If it still doesn't work then there's a problem with your installation of Windows.
