Getting featured/a page on IMDB?

Quick question. I'm wondering how I'd go about making a page of my stuff on IMDB, like when you type my name it shows up all the things I've directed, acted in etc

The list isn't particularly big but it should grow over this year so I want to get one up for when I start my feature film work.

Thanks.

you don't - IMDB does it for you as you work on relavent projects. The only thing you can do is make sure they are giving you credit for each project.

Actually you can add information but it must be verifiable information. Like posting a short that was uploaded on YouTube isn't going to warrant an IMDB listing unless it got a ton of noteriety.

Most films in release or that have played at festivals will be elegible to be on IMDB but the process takes a while to get all the information up for the film(s).

I've got quite a few IMDB credits but still others that have not met the criteria as yet. Many will never be posted there.

Ya know, it's funny, I see first films and shorts on IMDb ALL the time that are either still in production or have never been "released". I hear one trick to getting new titles listed is to PAY for IMDb Pro.

.

To get listed on IMDB get your film(s) in the trades, do a website/blog and have several (about four or five) independent news articles about it. I tell people how to do this in my book "Action Filmmaking" but it's very simple. They prefer to list things in pre-production, production or in post/finished. They're giving me the run around right now but I plan to have this listed soon enough.

Sometimes there are trusted sources that they accept pre-production listings and other things at times. However, they remove stuff that has been classified "in production" too long.

I had a project that was "in production" too long in they shut it down. You're supposed to update it within six months.

Withoutabox is now doing something with IMDB (I think IMDB owns WOB now) on submissions. I submitted my latest short to two festivals and suddenly I get an email saying that my film had been prequalfied to be listed on IMDB and all I had to do was put a code in when I submitted the info. I don't know why they are suddenly doing this, but it's interesting considered my film has not even been accepted at any film festival. However, it may help that the director/writer, DP (me), producer, and other crew already have IMDB credits, so that may make a difference.

This is actually good news for filmmakers who have a long wait before their first festival as the Withoutabox tie in will act as the legitimacy that IMDB needs to list it.
