Getting a still out of FCP

I'm trying to pull a screen shot out of FCP.

The FCP image is 16:9 and comes out compressed and distorted when I try to pull a JPEG still.

Is there a trick to this?

If you're footage is 16:9 I'm going to guess you're using a compression codec like DVCPRO HD which is not really 1920x1080 or 1280x720. Right click on your sequence and then look at the settings. What's your frame size? Is that the same size you're getting when you export the image via quicktime conversion?

If so just resize it in photoshop to the correct larger size (ie 1280x720 from 960x720) without constraining the proportions.
 
An easier way, though not correct in terms of color and pixel resolution is to view all frames on your computer monitor (command+f12) and then take a screen shot (command+shift+3).
