Getting a 20k up in the air...

So I'm shooting a short in a few weeks and our budget is getting pretty tight, I was curious if anyone knew a less expensive way to get a 20k 20+ ft in the air.

We looked into getting a condor or scissor lift, but at 280/day, it's looking a little over the amount we want to spend.

any thoughts?

thanks,
matt

Scaffolding, is your option. scrimping the budget for a cheap way to support this big "Mutha" is not the way to go. Safety first.
Yes, we have all done it. Short of building a platform on a house, "Jeri" rigging it from a telephone pole, or even on the roof of the grip truck.
20 feet is a considerable height for this beast. Being able to position it precisely by a moveable platform is the way to go... Look closer at your budget, and if it means losing a crew member for the day, not renting a piece of gear you want, or raising the additional funds needed.. do it.

Another option is to put a shinney board in the air at 20 ft and fire the 20 k into that, or a larger 6x6 or 8x8 lame or reflector.

like filmat said, get yourself either a reflector or mirror and shine your light into the air reflecting off of it.
