Get rid of "Ghost effect" on transition

I am creating a transition where a graphic appears and spins toward the screen, then spins back to reveal the following shot. I exported it using Quicktime conversion, and want to bring it back into FCP so that I can crop it to match my widescreen project. However, the movie I get has that ghost effect on every frame, and when it's in motion it makes it look like it has a white glow around it. Can someone explain what is happening, and is there a way to get rid of it? The origional graphic is a .psd file created in Photoshop CS.
